Tanya Shumsky: PROJECT 2

PROJECT 2

More On My Overall Design.
The overall appearance of my design is supposed to be out of the ordinary very surreal, as I wanted it to reflect upon the narrative of the painting I chose, with a women whom is not of sound mind.
As she stares out of the window, she doesn't look down to see or reflect upon the people bellow on ground level, that are going about their normal daily lives. Her window is up high above the ground level and her view up there corresponds to her present state of mind.

Parti Sketch Of Front View Elevation.

This sketch is using straight line work not using any curves it captures the geometrical formations that are used in my design.

The actual spaces designed have curves in them but in these Parti sketches I have managed to show the geometrical shapes in the elevation views.

Painting Analysis

Key Points;

  • Lady is alone;
  • Looking out window;
  • The stare is not focused onto the building, or she is not looking down towards ground level, it is fixed out into the direction of the horizon;
  • Her mood set is emotionless upon her face/solace;
  • Some natural light that is beaming through the window is cast upon her and her face; casting a shadow of her onto the bad;
  • The room is bare;
  • Only a bed is seen and the sheet over the bed;
  • No bright colours; used for the walls; bed sheets; even her clothes;
  • Window is open;
  • Some natural light is shinning through the window;
  • The light is cast upon the bare wall, and bed;
  • The sky is seen as clear;
  • Daylight is shown through the sky; - clear blue sky, - some sunlight is seen;
  • View is higher up than ground level;
  • The silhouette of a building is the view through the window;
  • The entire view through the window; is 25% building, 75% clear sky.
